Illegal Parking in Menteng will Be Disciplined

Jakarta Transportation Department is going to hold raid against illegal parking around Taman Menteng, Central Jakarta. The area is chosen because many cars are parked illegally on roadsides from the afternoon until evening. As a result, traffic congestion is inevitably, especially on Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto from Menteng to Kuningan.

“Illegal parking in Menteng will be disciplined in the afternoon and at night,” stated Head of Control and Operation Division for Jakarta Transportation Department, Syafrin Lupito, Monday (10/6).

According to Lupito, his party has expanding the area of illegal parking raid. In Central Jakarta, the areas that have been disciplined are Tanah Abang Market to Cideng Barat, Jalan Zainul Arifin, Gajah Mada, untill Hayam Wuruk.

Illegal Parking Raid Netted 514 Vehicles

“In West Jakarta, the disciplined area is expanded from Kota to Glodok, Jayakarta, Jembatan Lima, Tanah Sereal, and Glodok,” he said.

For North Jakarta, Lupito continued, the expanding of illegal parking raid has been conducted from Marunda Access to some points like RE Martadinata, Kelapa Gading, and Pluit.

“Also in East Jakarta, the disciplined illegal parking areas are expanded from Jatinegara Market to Jalan Pramuka, Jalan Pemuda, and Jalan Otista,” he informed.

While in South Jakarta, Lupito added, the illegal parking now has reached Jalan Kuningan and Senopati from initially in Kalibata City.

“So, our men are no longer stay in one area, but they have moved from one area to another. Menteng is the next target,” he disclosed.
